The oversees food pantries in Andes and Roxbury for persons in need food assistance. This outreach provides emergency food assistance to needy food insecure persons and families throughout the area. Funds were used to procure food and to provide oversight and operational expenses for three pantries that are run by volunteers. We also provide religious and devotional material for residents in our area nursing homes. We have also received a one-time grant in 2020 to facilitate assistance to people affected adversely by COvID 19 We used part that grant in 2021 to help transition the Roxbury Food Pantry into a new location when its former home in a church proved unsatisfactory. Another part that grant was used to help move a trailer home for a family who fix it up and make it their home.

OPERATING A MOBILE FOOD PREPARATION TRUCK TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR THE INDIGENT

TO HELP POVERTY STRICKEN PEOPLE. THIS WILL BE DONE BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, FOOD, CLOTHING AND SUPPLIES TO THE NEEDY SO THEY CAN ONE DAY LEAD PRODUCTIVE LIVES AND RETURN TO A NORMAL AND SAFE WAY OF LIVING.

The Highland Games is an annual celebration of heritage. Held on the grounds of Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, NY, the attracts approximately 7,000 attendees each year. culture is presented through musical performances featuring bagpipes, singers bands; displays of highland country dancers; competitions of traditional highland heavy athletic games, such as the throwing of the caber; explorations of ancestry among the family clans; lectures on culture, books other related topics. Attendees can also taste traditional foods such as haggis meat pies, can shop among vendors offering a range of products, including kilts. The Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248 was chartered by the OSIA on July 31, 1971. Since our founding, we have distinguished ourselves by our philanthropic endeavors and exemplary service to the community. Recipients include the St Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry, various charities, soccer teams, and individual families need. Working with the 3 area high schools we implemented an Italian Language studies program. To recognize this accomplishment we have established 3 scholarships which are awarded annually to graduating seniors from the John Jay, Roy C Ketcham, and Arlington High Schools. The scholarships are awarded to those seniors who have demonstrated exemplary performance the Italian language program.
